Last week, December 11th would have been Naguib Mahfouz's 99th birthday, meaning next year, December 11th 2011 will be his 100th.  In honor of his 100th birthday, American University Cairo is planning to complete translation of all of his thirty-five novels into English.  Naguib Mahfouz won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1988.

In the spirit of his birthday, I will try to review all of his novels that have so far been translated this year.  This is going to be fun!
