Geraint is a jerk! He is the opposite of chivalry, treating his wife Enid terribly. Enid lives up to Tennyson's ideals for women in her steadfast faithfulness to Geraint. In this way she is a spoil to Guinevere. So far Idylls of the King is a tad moralistic: virtue and chivalry good, vice and lusty women bad...it's a really romanticized vision for Victorian society. At least there are knights running around and tournements to entertain us!
