Secret Origin is the first Green Lantern graphic novel I've read. It was recommended to me as a good place to start learning about the world of Green Lantern. It is also a good place to start the setup to the "Blackest Night" story arc.
In Secret Origin we learn about a lot of Hal Jordan's back story. For long-time fans of Green Lantern, it may be a bit boring and rehashed.
Bottom Line: Secret Origin is a great place to start to get into Green Lantern, though it may bore other fans, it still does have some tidbits for the lead up to "Blackest Night."
